How the scrub works
Body Scrub Couple is an add-on exfoliation treatment for two people to receive side-by-side at our Northridge location. The core process is removal of dead surface skin cells that reveals fresher tissue underneath. Outcomes depend on skin type, frequency of exfoliation, and immediate aftercare such as applying moisturizers to help retain hydration.
Sharing the treatment space lets partners coordinate timing around CSUN classes or commuting routes along the 118. Northridge’s Mediterranean climate—warm, dry summers and occasional poor air-quality days—shapes local needs, so therapists consider lifestyle factors when advising on frequency and home care to maintain results.
What to expect during
During a couple body scrub both clients receive exfoliation in the same treatment area so they can relax together. Therapists check sensitivity and preference, then work methodically over rougher areas like elbows or knees based on individual feedback. Communication about pressure and skin sensitivity ensures the experience is comfortable for each person.
Many clients notice softer-feeling skin immediately and a clearer surface that reflects more light. Because dead skin is removed, topical moisturizers and oils applied afterward absorb more readily. Repeated treatments often reduce rough patches and clogged follicles, although individual results vary with skin type and aftercare.
Aftercare, timing, and frequency
Post-treatment moisturization is the primary step clients can control: lotions and body butters absorb more effectively after exfoliation, helping sustain the smoother feel. In Northridge’s dry summer months, richer hydration may be needed; students and commuters who spend time outdoors or in cars often benefit from a consistent daily aftercare routine.
How often to schedule scrubs depends on skin sensitivity, lifestyle and local conditions—there’s no universal interval. Regular exfoliation helps keep pores clear and can reduce the chance of ingrown hairs for people who shave or wax. Discuss your routine with a therapist so they can recommend a plan that fits your schedule.
