How the technique works
The Swedish protocol draws on the five basic movements developed by Pehr Henrik Ling (1779–1839) to increase circulation and encourage removal of toxins from muscles. We use firm but gentle pressure with either oil or lotion—whichever you prefer—to compress and relax muscle tissue. Strokes are arranged to include lymphatic-drainage–style movement intended to assist the body’s natural clearance pathways.
Your therapist will adapt pressure, pace and stroke choices to what you request at the start and during the session. If you’d like to request a specific person please add their name in the notes section; otherwise we’ll assign a therapist based on our rotation. Ongoing feedback during the 90-minute session helps direct focus without changing the overall structure.
Session structure and choices
Duration: 90 minutes. Price: $100. Sessions begin with a brief intake to identify areas of tension and your pressure preference, then proceed with draped work focusing on prioritized regions. You can choose oil or lotion at check-in; therapists use firm but gentle strokes and adjust sequencing so the full time addresses your key concerns.
Our Northridge location sits on the Devonshire/Reseda corridor near CSUN and the Northridge Fashion Center, making appointments easy for commuters along the 118 and local shoppers. Students and busy families often choose flexible appointment windows; a 90-minute visit fits before or after classes, errands, or work commutes when you need a longer, uninterrupted self-care block.
Expected session sensations and outcomes
The Swedish movements are designed to increase circulation and support lymphatic flow while compressing and relaxing muscle tissue. Many clients report immediate feelings of relaxation, reduced stiffness and greater ease of movement after a session, though individual responses vary. Therapists tailor stroke intensity and rhythm so the experience matches your tolerance and goals during the 90 minutes.
A 90-minute appointment lets your therapist address several areas with a slower, more deliberate pace compared to shorter sessions, but it requires a larger time block in your day. Consider Northridge’s seasonal air-quality variations and commute patterns when booking; choose times that let you arrive relaxed and leave without rushing to ensure the full session benefits are realized.
