How the technique works
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue through sustained, focused pressure and slow strokes that work beneath the surface. Therapists concentrate on areas of chronic tension to release adhesions and improve mobility while working within your comfort level, adapting pressure based on feedback and the specific pattern of tightness.
Therapists assess movement patterns and localized stiffness to decide where to spend extra time; this is why a 90-minute session allows a fuller, more methodical approach than shorter visits. If you’d like to request a specific person please add their name in the notes section. Otherwise, we’ll assign a therapist based on our rotation.
What to expect during session
A typical 90 minutes begins with a brief intake on your concerns—common areas include stiff necks, back discomfort, and tight leg muscles—followed by a focused hands-on session. The therapist stays concentrated on problem areas, using varied pressure and tempo, and will check in so the treatment remains effective without being intolerable.
After the session you may notice immediate ease in movement or mild, temporary soreness in treated areas; many clients find this part of the tissue release process. Hydration and gentle movement afterward help, and therapists usually offer self-care suggestions tailored to the specific areas worked during your visit.
